THE CSM MIDWIFERY PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The CSM Midwifery Program is designed to provide aspiring community midwives with the foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to embark on a career in Midwifery. The program covers essential topics related to maternal and infant care, with a focus on prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care. The training program is didactic and built for student midwives interested in the apprenticeship model of midwifery.

The training program is completed in 3 phases over 3 years. Phase 1 focuses on foundational midwifery principles and is 12 months long. Phase 2 moves the student into advanced midwifery principles covered in 15 months. Phase 3 is an optional phase for the student to receive intensive preparation to sit for the NARM (CPM) and/or IRM (CIM) board exams.

The total cost of the program is $11,232 with an optional CPM Prep Phase at an additional cost of $1,248. Each phase is completed and paid separately with weekly and monthly payment plans available.

Students who successfully complete phase 1 of the CSM training program will be prepared to match with preceptors. The CSM will assist in identifying and coordinating introductions with potential preceptors, however, each student is responsible for securing their preceptorship by way of a formal interview process. Preceptorship opportunities are only available to students who have completed Phase 1 and meet the objective guidelines for preceptorship.

This program equips students with the didactic and hands-on skills training needed for preceptorship to become an entry-level midwife.
